The Ellsworth Eagles Girl's Basketball Team improved to 8-4 on the season, with a 60-36 victory over the Old Town Coyotes on Wednesday, January 14th at Katsiaficas Gymnasium in Ellsworth. Ellsworth led 11-8 at the end of the 1st Quarter and never looked back as they had a 33-16 lead at the half, and it was 45-24 at the end of the 3rd Quarter...

The MDI Boy's Basketball Team gave Old Town all it could handle for three quarters, before Old Town pulled away in the 4th Quarter to win the game 71-59. MDI led 16-15 after the 1st Quarter and 34-31 at the end of the 1st Half. Old Town led at the end of the 3rd Quarter 51-49, and then the Coyotes outscored the Trojans in the 4th Quarter 20-10, to come away with the victory 71-59...

The MDI Girls were without two starters Tuesday night, January 6th, Sarah Phelps who was ill, and Molly Carroll who was away, and Old Town was without two players who had  been injured during the season, Rachel Martin and Mikayla Richards. The Old Town Coyotes took on the Ellsworth Eagles on Tuesday, December 16th, in an early season Big East clash, and Old Town ended up on top 64-48, in Ellsworth. Old Town took a 17-14 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter, and it was still a 3 point lead at the half 34-31, but then the Coyotes came out in the 3rd Quarter, outscoring Ellsworth 20-8 in the quarter...

The defending Class B State Champs got a scare in the 1st Quarter, as MDI led the entire 1st Quarter, until there were 11 seconds left, when Old Town took their first lead of the night16-15.Old Town outscored MDI 16-9 in the 2nd Quarter and never looked back en route to a 65-46 victory in the opening game for both teams...

The MDI Trojans started their defense of the Eastern Maine Class B Title with an impressive 64-24 victory over the Old Town Coyotes on Friday, December 5, 2014 at Bernard Parady Gymnasium in Bar Harbor.
