Sumner Memorial HS Girls Basketball Team Wins Good Sportsmanship Banner

Congratulations to the Sumner Memorial High School Girls Basketball Team who won the Class C North Good Sportsmanship Award. The Award was presented at the Class B State Final Games held in Bangor at the Cross Insurance Center on Friday, February 28th!

Accepting the Banner on behalf of Sumner Memorial High School were Belinda Catheron, Brookelyn Bubar,Hannah Shorey, Becca Muise and coach Roland Shorey.

While Gold Balls are great, the Blue Sportsmanship Banners voted by opposing coaches and the officials are a significant achievement. How you play the game, the respect you show opposing teams, coaches , fans and officials are lifelong lessons that you take long after you leave the court.
