Sumner Memorial High School Principal Amy Watson has announced the honor parts for the Class of 2026. Graduation will be held on Thursday, June 4, at 7:00 p.m. on the Charles M. Sumner Learning Campus.

Ciara Nicole Trundy - Valedictorian

This year’s valedictorian, graduating with high honors distinction, is Ciara Nicole Trundy, daughter of Ronald and Tricia Trundy of Steuben. The salutatorian, also graduating with high honors distinction, is Logan James Madox Crowley, son of Ricky and Amanda Crowley of Gouldsboro.

At Sumner, Ciara has been a four-year member of the softball team. She serves as treasurer of her graduating class and secretary of the Sumner chapter of the National Honor Society. As a participant in the Early College program, she has earned 42 college credits. Ciara will begin her post-secondary journey at Eastern Maine Community College, where she plans to major in nursing. Upon completion of her EMCC program, she intends to transfer into a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.

Logan Crowley - Salutatorian

Logan has been a four-year varsity athlete in basketball and baseball, serving as a team captain in both sports. He is a seven-time DAC All-Star and a member of the National Honor Society. Logan is also a proud member of a generational lobstering family and has been involved in the industry since the age of eight. He will attend Southern Maine Community College in the fall, where he plans to play baseball for the SeaWolves and major in Business Administration.

First Honor Essayist - Rebekah Sue Perry-Lind

The first honor essayist, graduating with high honors distinction, is Rebekah Sue Perry-Lind, daughter of Kathy Lind and Marie Perry of Steuben. She has been a member of the Health Occupations Program at Hancock County Technical Center, where she was inducted into the National Technical Honor Society. She is a two-time silver medalist at SkillsUSA in healthcare competitions and has been a four-year member of the varsity softball team. Rebekah will continue her nursing studies at the University of Maine as she pursues her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Second Honor Essayist -  Emily Elizabeth Green

The second honor essayist, graduating with high honors distinction, is Emily Elizabeth Green, daughter of David and Glori Green of Franklin. Emily is president of the Sumner Student Council and serves as vice president of the Sumner chapter of the National Honor Society. She has participated in both indoor and outdoor track. Emily will attend the University of Maine to pursue a degree in Political Science.
