
Southwest Harbor Unanimously Rejects Cruise Ships
At the special Town Meeting on Tuesday Night, August 15th, the voters present in Southwest Harbor unanimously rejected cruise ships, voting to impose a 180 day moratorium on allowing cruise ships to anchor in Southwest Harbor's waters.
The written ballot vote was 119-0 and prohibits anchorage to any boat with a capacity of 50 passengers or more in Southwest Harbor waters, with the exception for boats that are currently using the Harbor.
