Sale Dominates In 1st Start Against Braves
Chris Sale dominated the Atlanta Braves in his 1st Spring Training start of the season, throwing 4 innings and striking out 7 as the Red Sox beat the Braves 6-1 on Saturday afternoon, March 16th.
Sale only allowed 2 hits in pitching 4 shutout innings.
The Red Sox banged out 7 hits, 5 of which were extra base hits. Mookie Betts hit his 1st homer of the Spring, a solo shot in the 6th inning. Jackie Bradley Jr., Xander Bogaerts, Eduardo Nunez and Mitch Moreland all doubled.
The Red Sox have 10 Spring Training games remaining. The Red Sox will play split squad games on Sunday, March 17th against Tampa Bay and the Pittsburgh Pirates. David Price will pitch against the Rays in a game that will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA. Marcus Walden will start the game against the Pirates.
