Royals Walk-Off Red Sox 5-4 Saturday [VIDEO]
The Boston Red Sox lost to the Kansas City Royals on Saturday, August 6th as Nick Pratto hit a 3-2, 2-out home run off of Garrett Whitlock in the 9th innng to break the 4-4 tie and give the Royals the win.
Nathan Eovaldi started the game for Boston and went 6.0 innings, allowing 7 hits and 4 runs. He struck out 7 and didn't walk a batter.
He gave up a lead-off homer to M.J. Melendez
He also allowed a 2-out solo home run to Kyle Isbel in the 4th inning.
Whitlock was cruising until the game-winning homer. He went 2.2 innings, allowing just the 1 hit, striking out 1.
The Red Sox had 2 homers on the night.
Bobby Dalbec hit a 2-out 2-run home run in the 4th inning, his 11th of the year.
Alex Verdugo hit his 6th of the year, a solo home run in the 6th inning.
Christian Arroyo was 3-4 in the game, but was caught stealing once, and picked off once.
JD Martinez was 1-3 with a double.
