The Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees start a 2 game series Saturday afternoon, June 29th in London. Pregame begins at 12:10 with the 1st pitch at 1:10. Sunday, the game will be played in the morning, with the pregame beginning at 9:10 and 1st pitch at 10:10.

The 2 game series marks the first time that Major League Baseball will have been played in Europe. Even though the Red Sox are the home team, the Red Sox will fly about 7,676 miles in 12 days as they play the Yankees, Blue Jays and Tigers before breaking for the All-Star Break

The Red Sox begin the day at 44-38, 9 games behind the 1st place New York Yankees who have a record of 52-28.

Prior to the game the Red Sox placed left handed pitcher Brian Johnson on the 10 day injured list retroactive to June 27 with a non baseball related medical matter, discovered during routine testing by medical staff.

The Red Sox reinstated Hector Velazquez from the injured list to take Johnson's spot on the roster.

The teams are able to add a 26th man to the roster for the series, and that player has to be a non-pitcher. The Red Sox have added Sam Travis. They also have catcher Oscar Hernandez on a "taxi squad" in the event of injury.

London Stadium should be a hitter's ballpark, with the exception of the tremendous amount of foul territory. The left field and right field foul lines are just 330 feet away. Straightaway center is only 385 feet, but there is a 16 foot high wall.
