The Boston Red Sox's winning streak ended at 8 games Friday night, as the bullpen gave up 5 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning, and ended up losing to the New York Yankees in New York 5-4 on Friday, August 11th.

The Red Sox were leading 3-0 going into the bottom of the 8th inning when Addison Reed gave up 4 runs, without retiring a batter. The big hit was Aaron Hicks' 2 run homer.

Eduardo Rodriguez had pitched well, starting for the Red Sox, going 6.0 innings and allowing just 2 hits, shutting out the Yankees. He struck out 7 and walked 2.

Hanley Ramirez had staked the Red Sox to a 2-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning with a home run. He was 2-3 on the night.

Andrew Benintendi was 2-4 with 2 runs batted in, including a homer in the top of the 5th inning.

The Red Sox are now 3.5 games ahead of the 2nd place New York Yankees.

The Red Sox and Yankees will play Saturday afternoon with the pregame starting at 3:20 and 1st pitch at 4:05 PM on AM 1370 WDEA. Drew Pomeranz 11-4 will pitch for the Red Sox.
