The Boston Red Sox won their 100th game of the season, defeating the Toronto Blue Jays 1-0, on Wednesday September 12th,  behind the 7 inning 3 hit pitching of David Price. The 100th victory marks the first time since 1946 that the Red Sox have won 100 games.

Price won his 15th game of the season, scattering 3 singles over 7 innings. He struck out 7 and didn't walk a batter. Steven Wright pitched a 1 hit 8th inning and Craig Kimbrel the 9th inning, for his 39th save of the season.

The Red Sox managed only 4 hits, and the lone run of the game came in the 5th inning, when Rafael Devers scored on a wild pitch.

The Red Sox win, combined with the Yankees 3-1 loss to the Minnesota Twins means the Red Sox magic number to win the AL East is 7 games.

The Red Sox will play Toronto Thursday night in the final game of the 3 game series. Eduardo Rodriguez goes to the mound for Boston with the pregame starting at 6:25 and first pitch at 7:10 on AM 1370 WDEA.
