The Boston Red Sox had their 3-game winning streak snapped on Thursday night, May 7th, falling to the Tampa Bay Rays 8-4 at Fenway Park.

Jake Bennett made his 2nd start for the Red Sox. He went 5.1 innings allowing 6 hits and 4 runs, striking out 1 and walking twice. His record is now 1-1. He allowed 5 straight baserunners and 3 runs in the 2nd inning before retiring 10 of the final 12 batters he faced.

Caleb Durbin was 1-3 with a RBI. Wilyer Abreu was 1-3 with a RBI. Ceddanne Rafaela was 1-4 with a RBI and Jarren Duran was 1-4 with a double.

Prior to the game the Red Sox placed Roman Anthony on the 10-Day Injured list retroactive to May 5th with a right wrist sprain. They recalled Mickey Gaspar from Triple A Worcester to take his place on the roster

Boston is now 16-22 while the Rays are 25-12. The 2 teams will play on Friday night, May 8th with the pregame starting at 6:10 and 1st pitch at 7:10 on WDEA AM 1370.
