Red Sox Beat Tampa Bay 7-5 to Play Braves on Friday at 1 p.m. [VIDEO]

The Boston Red Sox improved to 4-2 in their Spring Training games after beating the Tampa Bay Rays 7-5 on Thursday, February 26th and will play the Atlanta Braves on Friday, February 27th at 1 p.m.

On Thursday, Garrett Crochet made his Spring Training debut and threw 2 innings, tossing 23 pitches, 14 for strikes. He didn't allow a run, and gave up 1 hit, walking a batter.

Aroldis Chapman made his 1st appearance and struck out 3 of the 4 batters he faced, pitching 1 inning. He allowed 1 hit and threw 20 pitches, 15 for strikes.

Trevor Story went 2-3 with a pair of doubles and drove in 2 runs.

On Friday, Brayan Bello will make his 2nd appearance of the season. On February 22nd he went 1.1 innings throwing 35 pitches against the Blue Jays. In 2025 he was 11-9 with a 3.35 earned run average.

Also scheduled to pitch on Friday the 27th are Zach Kelly, Kyle Keller, Seth Martinez, Noah Song and Jeremy Wu-Yelland.

Boston opens the regular season in 27 days on March 26th in Cincinnati against the Reds.
