The Boston Red Sox beat the Tampa Bay Rays Friday night, May 8th as they homered twice and Connelly Early went 7.0 innings to pick up the win.

Early picked up the win and is now 3-2. He allowed just 4 hits and struck out 8 while walking 1.

Garrett Whitlock struck out 2 in the 8th inning and Aroldis Chapman struck out 2 in the 9th inning, earning his 8th save of the season.

Boston had only 4 hits in the game, but 2 of them were home runs.

Ceddanne Rafaela was 2-4 and hit a solo home run in the 4 inning. It was his 3rd homer of the season.

Wilyer Abreu hit a solo home run in the 3rd inning. It was his 6th homer of the season.
