In a reported 3-way trade, the Boston Red Sox have traded All-Star Mookie Betts and David Price to the Los Angeles Dodgers along with some cash. The trade is conditional upon all players passing medical tests.

Betts is a free agent at the end of the 2020 season. The Red Sox will now be below the Competitive Balance Tax Threshold of $208 million for the 2020 season.
Spring Training for the Red Sox begins on February 12th with the 1st workout for pitchers and catchers. The first full workout is on Monday, February 17th. The first Spring Training game against a major league opponent is on Saturday, February 22nd, when the Red Sox play the Tampa Bay Rays at Jet Blue Park in Fort Myers at 1:05 p.m. That and 30 other Spring Training games will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA along with the 162 Regular Season games.
