Red Sox – Tigers Game Notes March 2 [VIDEO]

The Boston Red Sox will play the Detroit Tigers in Spring Training action Monday, March 2nd at 1:05 p.m. You can hear the pregame starting at 1 p.m. on AM 1370 WDEA.

Yesterday the Red Sox improved to 4-5-1 in the Spring, beating the Atlanta Braves 4-2. Nathan Eovaldi and Tanner Houck each threw 3.0 scoreless innings and Brandon Workman made his Spring debut throwing a scoreless 4th inning. Meanwhile Rafael Devers hit a 2 run homer to dead center in the 1st inning.

It's early in the Spring but so far Nathan Eovaldi (5 innings), Eduardo Rodriguez (3 innings) and Martin Perez (2 innings) have combined to allow no earned runs in 10 innings. They have struck out 17 and walked only 1.  Tanner Houck (5 innings), Brian Johnson (4 innings), and Ryan Weber (2 innings) have combined to throw 14 scoreless innings.

Today, March 2nd the Red Sox will send Ryan Weber to the mound 1st, Expected to pitch today against the Tigers are RHP Matt Barnes, RHP Denyi Reyes, RHP Phillips Valdez and RHP Colten Brewer. Barnes will be making his 1st appearance this Spring.

Tomorrow, March 3rd the Red Sox will play the New York Yankees with the pregame starting at 1 p.m. on AM 1370 WDEA.
