Only in Spring Training will you see a tie in baseball, and yesterday, March 14th the Boston Red Sox tied the Detroit Tigers 4-4. It stopped the Red Sox 7 game Spring Training losing streak.
On Thursday, Steve Pearce was the hero for the Red Sox, blasting 2 home runs, driving in 3 runs.
Eduardo Rodriguez threw 5 innings for the Red Sox, allowing 3 runs while striking out 8. Brandon Workman threw a scoreless 6th inning striking out 2 and Heath Hembree struck out the side in the 7th, in his 1st Spring Training performance.
The Red Sox will play the New York Yankees this afternoon (March 15th) at 1PM. Hector Velazquez is scheduled to start for the Red Sox. Tomorrow, Saturday the 16th the Red Sox will play the Braves with Chris Sale scheduled to pitch at 1PM and then on Sunday the Red Sox will play Tampa Bay and Pittsburgh in split squad games at 1PM.
