Hanley Ramirez came out during the player introductions carrying a green flag saying "Believe in Boston" with a shamrock on it. He then put the Boston Red Sox on his back, going 4-4 with a double and 3 runs batted in, as the Boston Red Sox thumped the Houston Astros 10-3 to stay alive in the American League Division Series.

Things sure didn't look good for the Red Sox, as Doug Fister was roughed up for 3 runs in 1.1 innings as the Astros jumped out to a 3-0 lead. It could have been even worse but Mookie Betts robbed Josh Reddick of a 3 run homer.

Joe Kelly came on in relief pitching 1.2 innings allowing just 2 hits but more importantly stranding 2 runners in the 2nd inning and pitched a scoreless 3rd inning.

David Price pitched 4.0 innings of relief allowing just 4 hits, walking 1 and striking out 4. It was the longest postseason relief effort by a Red Sox pitcher since Pedro Martinez threw 6.0 innings against the Cleveland Indians in Game 5 of the 1999 American League Division Series .

Ramirez's 4 hits was his 1st 4 hit game since May 14, 2015 and was the 3rd Red Sox player to go 4-4 in the postseason, the others being Rich Gedman and Spike Owen in 1986.

Rafael Devers put the Red Sox in the lead 4-3 with a 2 run homer in the bottom of the 3rd inning. He finished the game 2-3 and 3 RBI's.

Jackie Bradley Jr. added a 3 run homer in the 7th inning to put the Red Sox up 10-3.

Weather permitting (and it doesn't look good) the Red Sox will play the Astros in Game 4 on Monday. The Red Sox pregame starts at 12:20 with the 1st pitch at 1:08 .  If the Red Sox -Astros game is rained out on Monday, they will play on Tuesday.
