Got your Sox on? The 2-3 Boston Red Sox will play the 2-2-1 Philadelphia Phillies Friday afternoon starting at 1 p.m. on AM 1370 WDEA.

Yesterday the Red Sox defeated the Detroit Tigers 6-5. In the game Marcelo Mayer went 3-3 with a triple, 2-run homer in the 5th inning and drove in 3 runs. David Hamilton 1-3 hit a solo homer in the 6th inning and Trayce Thompson 2-3 also hit a solo home run in the 6th inning.

Quinn Priester started or Boston and threw 2.0 scoreless innings, allowing 2 hits and walking 2 and striking out 1. Josh Winckowski followed tossing 2.0 inning and allowing 1 hit, 1 run and striking out and walking 1. Michael Fulmer pitched 2.0 hitless innings allowing just a walk and striking out 2.

Boston is scheduled to send out Garrett Crochet, Yovanny Cruz, Brian Van Belle, Richard Fitts and Robert Stock to the mound. Crochet in his 1st Spring Training appearance against Toronto allowed 3 hits in 1.2 innings, striking out 4 and walking 1.

The Red Sox will play Minnesota tomorrow, Saturday March 1st.

The Red Sox open the regular season in 27 days on March 27th in Texas against the Rangers.
