The Boston Red Sox used a surprisingly strong spot start from Ryan Weber and banged out 15 hits Thursday afternoon to beat the Toronto Blue Jays 8-2, taking 3 out of the 4 games in Canada
Weber making his 1st start went 6 innings allowing just 3 hits and 1 run. He struck out 3 and didn't walk a batter. Travis Lakins called up today when Tyler Thornburg was placed on the Injured List pitched the 7th allowing 1 hit and striking out 1.
Steve Pearce playing left field was 3-5 with his 1st homer of the season, coming in the 9th inning with 1 on. Every member of the Red Sox batting order had at least 1 hit.
Xander Bogaerts was 2-4, with a double. Jackie Bradley Jr. was 2-4 with a double. Rafael Devers and Eduardo Nunez each had 2 hits.
