Red Sox Sweep Dodgers 8-4 With Four Home Runs On Sunday Night

The Boston Red Sox blasted 4 home runs on Sunday night, August 2nd, including 3 in the 3rd inning, to sweep the Los Angeles Dodgers 8-4.

In the 3rd inning Ceddanne Rafaela homered and then Wilyer Abreu homered to go back-to-back. After Willson Contreras made an out Masataka Yoshida homered. It was Rafaela's 15th homer, and 4th in the series. Abreu's homer was his 17th and Yoshida's 5th of the year.

Jarren Duran hit his 14th home run in the 6th inning.

Rafaela, Yoshida, and Abreu each had 2 hits on the night. Caleb Durbin and Andruw Monasterio each had a single.

Jake Bennett pitched 5.2 innings to pick up the win and is now 7-4 on the season. He struck out 4, walked 2 and allowed 6 hits and 3 runs.

Willson Contreras in his 1st game after being hit in the head on Friday, was 0-5, striking out twice.

The Red Sox are now 60-51 a season-high 9 games over .500. Boston returns to Fenway Park for a 6-game homestand with 3-games against the Chicago White Sox and 3 games against the A's.
