Red Sox Split Series with Astros Win Sunday 9-3
The Boston Red Sox beat the Houston Astros Sunday night, 9-3, earning a split of the series. The Red Sox are now 41-19 .
Sunday night Mitch Moreland blasted his 10th homer of the season, a 2-run shot in the top of the 1st inning. He finished the night 3-4. Andrew Benintendi was 2-5 with his 9th homer and a double. Brock Holt was 2-4 with a triple and 3 RBI's.
Rick Porcello went 6.1 strong innings. He allowed 3 runs, 2 of which were earned. He struck out 5 and walked 2. Matt Barnes and Heath Hembree closed out the game, not allowing a hit. Porcello is not 8-2
The only bad news...JD Martinez was removed from the game with back spasms. Manager Alex Cora expects him to be ready for Tuesday's game against the Detroit Tigers.
The New York Yankees had another rainout. They are playing a doubleheader today, Monday, June 4th against Detroit to make up for 2 rainouts earlier this year.
