The Boston Red Sox split their doubleheader with the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday, winning the 1st game 6-5 in 10 innings, before dropping the nightcap 2-1 as Marcello Mayer made his Major League debut, with Alex Bregman placed on the 10-day injured list.

Game 1.

Rafael Devers drove in the winning run in the 10th inning. He was 2-4, with a double. It was his 5th career walk-off RBI and 2nd this season. In his last 26 games, since April 26th, he's batting .410 with 8 doubles, 10 homers and 34 runs batted in. He's now batting .303 for the season.

Jarren Duran was 2-4 with his 4th home run of the season. It was his 7th career leadoff home run, and 2nd this season.

Wilyer Abreu was 1-3 and hit his 12th homer of the season, a solo home run in the 1st inning.

Abraham Toro was 1-4 and had a home run, his 2nd of the season, in the 5th inning.

Hunter Dobbins started for the Red Sox and went 4.0 innings allowing 5 hits and 4 runs, striking out 7 and walking 1. The Red Sox then used 6 relief pitchers who combined to hold Baltimore to 2 hits and 1 run over 6 innings, striking out 5 and walking 4. Greg Weissert picked up the win, pitching the 10th inning and is now 2-1.

Game 2

In the 2nd game Marcello Mayer made his major league debut, He batted 6th and started at 3rd base, playing a little at shortstop as well. He was 0-4

Lucas Giolito started for Boston and went 7.0 innings, allowing 6 hits and struck out 6 and walked 2. He didn't allow a run and gave the Red Sox some needed length as the bullpen has been taxed with all the work.

Brennan Bernardino took the loss and is 2-2.  He allowing 1 run walking 1 recording 2 outs. Liam Guerrero pitched the final 1.1 innings allowing 2 hits and 1 run, walking 3 and striking out 1.

Abraham Toro hit a solo homer, his 2nd of the day, in the 9th inning for Boston's lone run. It was his 3rd of the season.

Kristian Campbell was 2-4, with a pair of singles

Boston is now back at .500 with a 27-27 record. They are in 2nd place in the AL East 5.5 games behind the 1st place New York Yankees.

Boston and Baltimore will play the final game of the 4-game series on Sunday afternoon. The pregame starts at 12:35 with the 1st pitch at 1:25 on WDEA AM 1370.
