It all starts with pitching and David Price was masterful, going 7 innings as the Boston Red Sox shutout the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday afternoon, April 14th 4-0. Xander Bogaerts drove in all of the Red Sox' runs.

David Price threw 7 innings allowing just 3 hits, and struck out 7. It was the longest start by a Red Sox pitcher in the 2019 season to date, and the 1st scoreless start of over 3 innings by a Red Sox starting pitcher.

Ryan Brasier pitched the 8th and Matt Barnes pitched the 9th. Combined Red Sox pitching struck out 10 and walked only 2.

Xander Bogaerts was the offensive star, going 2-3, driving in all 4 runs for the Red Sox. He had a homer, his 2nd of the season, a 3-run shot in the 8th inning.

Boston, now 6-10 will play Baltimore in the final game of the 4 game series on Monday, in the annual Patriot's Day Game. The pregame starts at 10AM with the 1st pitch at 11:05 on AM 1370 WDEA. Hector Velazquez will make the start for Boston.

The Red Sox will then have a 2 game series in New York, April 16th and 17th against the New York Yankees. Chris Sale will pitch on Tuesday against the Yankees.
