The Boston Red Sox won their 5th in a row, shutting out the Seattle Mariners 3-0 on a rainy night at Fenway Park on Friday, May 26th. The Red Sox scored 2 runs in the 6th inning thanks to a single, 4 walks, a wild pitch and passed ball.

Eduardo Rodgriguez picked up the victory and is 4-1 on the season with a 2.77 ERA after throwing 6 scoreless innings allowing 5 hits, walking 3 and 4 strikeouts. It was his 50th career start and he threw a season high 112 pitches.

Hanley Ramirez was 2-3 with a double, his 5th of the season. He also walked and scored a run.

Christian Vazquez was 2-3 with a walk, singling twice. He is now batting .350 this season.

Josh Rutledge, starting for Dustin Pedroia was 1-4 with a run scored, and drove in the first run with a grounder in the 2nd inning.

Craig Kimbrel pitched a perfect 9th inning for his 13th save of the season. He is a perfect 27-27 in save opportunities as a Red Sox at Fenway Park.

With the win, the Red Sox are now 26-21 and in 2nd place in the AL East 2 games behind the 1st place New York Yankees. The Red Sox and Mariners play game 2 of the 3 game series Saturday afternoon with the pregame starting at 3:20 and 1st pitch at 4:05 on AM 1370 WDEA.
