The Boston Red Sox's 8th victory of the season proved costly as Xander Bogaerts was placed on the 10 day Disabled List after X-Rays yesterday, and an MRI today revealed a small crack in the talus bone in his left ankle.

The good news is that the injury was non-displaced and will not require surgery. He's expected to miss 10-14 days. The Red Sox recalled Tzu-Wei Lin from Pawtucket.

In 9 games Bogaerts was leading the Red Sox with a .368 batting average. He was leading the club with 2 homers,  7 doubles and 14 hits. He was tied with Rafael Devers for the team lead with 9 RBI's
