Red Sox Make It Official – Sign J.D. Martinez

The Boston Red Sox officially signed J.D. Martinez Monday morning, February 26th to a five year contract through the 2022 season. Martinez will wear number 28. 

Last year, Martinez played in 119 games between Detroit and Arizona and set career highs with 45 home runs, and 104 RBIs

The Boston Red Sox will play St. Louis today, February 26th at 1:05 PM with the pregame starting at 1PM on WDEA AM 1370. The Red Sox will send Jalen Beeks, Brandon Workman, Heath Hembree and Kyle Martin to the mound.

Yesterday, the Red Sox won their 3rd game of Spring Training. They beat Baltimore 7-1. Blake Swihart drove in 3 runs and had a double and homer. Jeremy Barfield, playing designated hitter, hit a homer after Swihart went deep and ended up driving in 2 runs.
