Greg Weissert pitched the 6th inning and allowed 2 hits and 1 run, striking out 1. Liam Hendriks pitched a scoreless 7th inning, striking out 1. Zack Kelly pitched the 8th and 9th innings, allowing 1 hit and 2 runs.

Jarren Duran had 4 of Boston's 10 hits, going 4-5, with 4 singles.

Carlos Narvaez was 2-3.

Abrahma Toro, playing 1st base again was 2-4 with a double and drove in a run.

Marcelo Mayer was 2-4 with a single in the 2nd inning for his 1st career hit, and doubled in the 9th inning. He also committed an error.

Boston is now 27-28 and in 3rd place in the AL East. They trail Toronto by a 1/2 game and the 1st place New York Yankees by 6.5 games. Boston now starts a 6-game road trip, with 3 games against the Milwaukee Brewers (May 26-28) an off-day on May 29th and then 3 games at Atlanta against the Braves (May 30-June 1).
