The Boston Red Sox lost to the Atlanta Braves 10-4 on Sunday afternoon at Fenway Park, as Brayan Bello set a season-high in runs allowed, giving up 7 runs in 4.1 innings.

Bello has now pitched fewer than 5.0 innings in his last 3 starts. He ended up going 4.1 innings allowing 10 hits and 7 runs, walking 5 and striking out 3.

Sean Newcomb saved the bullpen, pitching the final 4.2 innings in long relief. He allowed 6 hits and 3 runs, striking out 4 and walking 2.

The bright spot was in the bottom of the 3rd inning, when trailing 3-0 Rafael Devers hit a grand slam, the 6th of his career and 1st ever at Fenway Park. It was his 9th homer of the season. He also doubled, finishing the day 2-4. In his last 21 games, since April 26th he's hitting .402 with 7 doubles, and 7 homers, to raise his batting average to .289 after his horrendous start.

David Hamilton was 2-4 with a double and stole 2nd base. He was playing 2nd as Kristian Campbell was given the day off.

Former Red Sox Alex Verdugo was 3-5 for the Braves.

Boston is now 23-25, 2 games below .500. They are tied with the Toronto Blue Jays for 2nd place in the AL East, 5.0 games behind the 1st place New York Yankees. Boston opens a 3-game series with the New York Mets on Monday night, with the pregame starting at 5:45 and 1st pitch at 6:45 p.m. on AM 1370 WDEA.

Manager Alex Cora will miss Monday's game because of the graduation of his daughter from college.
