Red Sox Fall to the Tigers 8-4 in 10 Innings [VIDEO]
The Boston Red Sox fell to the Detroit Tigers 8-4 in 10 innings on Sunday at Fenway Park. It was the 1st time the Red Sox had lost on Sunday all season long. They're now 9-1 on Sunday.
The Red Sox were cruising up 3-0 at the end of the 4th inning, but Detroit took the lead with 2 runs in the top of the 7th 4-3. Rafael Devers hit a solo home run in the 8th inning to tie the game.
The homer was his 11th of the season. He finished the game going 2-4 with a triple and homer, and 2 runs batted in.
Brayan Bello went 6.1 innings, allowing 8 hits and 4 runs. He struck out 5 and walked 3.
Kenley Jansen pitched a scoreless 9th inning, with a strikeout. That strikeout (his 1,183rd), tied Rollie Fingers for the 6th most by a reliever in Major League Baseball history
Cam Booser pitched the 10th and allowed the 4 runs on 4 hits. He's now 0-2 on the season.
Jarren Duran was 2-3 with a pair of walks.

- Placed infielder Vaughn Grissom on the 10-Day Injured List with a right hamstring strain.
- Placed infielder/outfielder Romy Gonzalez on the 10-Day Injured List, retroactive to May 31, with a left hamstring strain.
- Transferred right-handed pitcher Garrett Whitlock to the 60-Day Injured List.
- Selected infielder/outfielder Jamie Westbrook to the active Major League roster from Triple-A Worcester. He will wear number 73.
- Recalled infielder/outfielder Bobby Dalbec from Triple-A Worcester.
