Red Sox Fall to Cubs 3-2
In the next to last Spring Training game, the Boston Red Sox fell to the Chicago Cubs 3-2 on Monday night in Arizona.
Rick Porcello pitched 4 innings for the Red Sox allowing 2 runs, both earned on 4 hits, striking out 3 and walking 1. Eduardo Rodriguez pitched 2 shutout innings striking out 3. Hector Velazquez took the loss, allowing 1 run in the 7th inning, a home run by David Bote.
The Red Sox had 7 hits, with Andrew Benintendi going 2-3 with a homer off Cole Hamels. Xander Bogaerts was also 2-3 with a double.
The Red Sox will play their last Spring Training game on Tuesday at 3PM against the Chicago Cubs. David Price is expected to get the start for the Red Sox.
The Red Sox open the regular season Thursday night against the 2-0 Seattle Mariners in Seattle at 7PM.
