The Boston Red Sox have lost their last 3 games as their bats have gone into a funk since Alex Bregman went on the injured list. They lost to the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday, losing 3-2.

The Red Sox had a chance to tie the game in the 9th inning, but Connor Wong grounded out with the bases loaded after the Brewer had intentionally walked Rafae Devers. Boston had scored 1 run in the 9th to pull within 1 run.

Jarren Duran had 2 of Boston's 7 hits, including his 13th double of the year, driving in 1 run.

Kristian Campbell drove in the other Red Sox run, finishing 1-4.

Marcello Mayer was 1-4 playing 3rd base.

Garret Crochet started on the mound for Boston and went 6.2 innings, allowing 5 hits and 2 runs, striking out 11 and walking 2. He gave up a 1st pitch homer to Jackson Chourio. Crochet took the loss and is now 4-4 with a ERA of 2.04

Garrett Whitlock pitched 1.1 innings allowing 2 hits and 1 run, striking out 1 and walking 2.

Boston is now 27-29 and in 4th place in the AL East. They are 7.5 games behind the 1st place New York Yankees.

Boston and Milwaukee will play the 2nd game of the 3-game series on Tuesday, May 27th, with the pregame starting at 6:40 and 1st pitch at 7:30 on AM 1370 WDEA.
