The Boston Red Sox have had a horrible July. There's no nicer way to put it! In their 25 games played they are 7-18, and lost again Friday night, July 29th to the Milwaukee Brewers by the score of 4-1.

Austin Davis started for Boston and went 2.1 innings, retiring 7 of the 8 batters he faced. He struck out 4 and allowed just 1 hit.

Brayan Bello, who had been the scheduled starter, came on and went 4.1 innings, allowing 2 runs and 4 hits. He struck out 4 and walked 3.

Ryan Brasier came on in the 7th inning and went 1.1 innings, allowing 1 hit, striking out 4.

Hirakazu Sawamura pitched the 9th inning, allowing 2 runs on 2 hits, walking 2.

Boston's lone run came in the 6th inning. Christian Vazquez who was 2-4 for the night doubled. That was followed by Alex Verdugo's double off the green monster to score Vazquez.  Verdugo was 2-4 on the night.

Brandon Woodruff was dominant on the mound for the Brewers. He went 6.1 innings and allowed just 4 hits and struck out 9 while walking 2. He retired 17 of the 19 batters he faced before giving up the back-to-back doubles.

Boston and Milwaukee will play the middle game of the 3-game series on Saturday afternoon. Nick Pivetta is slated to start for the Red Sox. The pregame begins at 3:05 p.m. and 1st pitch at 4:05 p.m. on AM 1370 WDEA.
