Red Sox Do Work on Labor Day Beat Braves 8-2
The Boston Red Sox opened a 3 game inter-league series in Atlanta against the Braves and came away with a 8-2 victory.
The Red Sox used 8 pitchers in the win. Nathan Eovaldi went 3.1 innings allowing 2 hits while striking out 4 and walking 4. Brandon Workman went .2 innings picking up the win, and is now 3-0. Steven Wright made his first appearance since June 22nd and pitched a scoreless inning. Joe Kelly and Ryan Brasier each allowed a run.
Ian Kinsler was 2-5 with a double and drove in 3 runs for the Red Sox. The Red Sox hit a total of 5 doubles. Besides Kinsler's, Andrew Benintendi, Christian Vazquez, JD Martinez and Eduardo Nunez all had doubles. The Red Sox had a total of 10 hits.
The Red Sox are now 95-44 with the Magic Number to win the division 17.
