The Boston Red Sox trailed the Chicago White Sox 2-0, 3-2 and 5-3 but scored a run in the bottom of the 8th to tie the score and Marco Hernandez drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 9th, with his 1st walk-off hit of his career. The Red Sox beat the White Sox 6-5 in the opening game of the 3 game series on Monday night, June 24th at Fenway Park.

Although Eduardo Rodriguez didn't get the win, the Red Sox are 12-2 in his last 14 starts. He went 6.1 innings allowing 5 runs on 6 hits. He struck out 4 and walked 2.

Jackie Bradley Jr. and Mookie Betts each homered. Andrew Benintendi was 2-5 with 2 doubles, extending his hitting streak to a season high 9 games. Xander Bogaerts was 2-3. He hit his AL leading 27th double, and now has 24 multi-hit games. Christian Vazquez singled in the 8th inning and now has a 10 game hitting streak.

The Red Sox are expected to activate Steven Wright before Tuesday night's game against the White Sox. Wright has been suspended for 80 games  for testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance.He is  1-0 with a 1.86 ERA over 9 2/3 innings.for Triple A Pawtucket. Should the Red Sox play in the post-season Wright will be ineligible to play.

Boston and Chicago play the 2nd game of the 3 game series Tuesday night. The pregame begins at 6:10 with the 1st pitch at 7:10. David Price is scheduled to pitch for Boston.
