Alex Bregman, Kristian Campbell and Tristan Casas each hit 2-run homers as the Bost Red Sox beat the Baltimore Orioles 8-4 Thursday afternoon to take 2 of 3 games in the series.

Bregman started the scoring for Boston, hitting his 2-run homer in the 1st inning. He ended the day 3-5 with a pair of doubles to go with his homer, and drove in 3 runs.

 

Campbell hit his 2-run shot in the 2nd inning. The rookie ended the day 2-4 and is batting .471 in 7 games.

Casas who has been struggling offensively hit his homer in the 7th inning. He ended the day 2-5.

Boston outhit Baltimore 11-8 and was 2-5 with runners in scoring position, leaving just 5 runners on base.

Tanner Houck started on the mound for Boston and lasted 4.0 innings, allowing 5 hits and 3 runs. He struck out 6 and walked 2. Zack Kelly picked up the win in relief and is 1-0. He didn't allow a hit pitching the 5th inning. Justin Wilson pitched the 6th inning, striking out 1. Justin Slaten pitched the 7th inning, allowing 1 hit and striking out 1. Garrett Whitlock closed out the game, pitching the 8th and 9th innings, allowing 1 hit and 1 run, walking 1 and striking out 3.

Baltimore is now 3-4 while Boston is also 3-4.

The Red Sox head to Boston for their home opener on Friday, April 4th against the St. Louis Cardinals. Boston will send Walker Buehler to the mound. The pregame starts at 1:10 with the 1st pitch at 2:10 on AM 1370 WDEA.
