After being swept in the doubleheader against the Tigers on Tuesday, April 23rd the Red Sox came out firing on all cylinders, Wednesday, beating the Detroit Tigers 11-4.

Eduardo Rodriguez was stellar for the Red Sox, pitching 6 innings, allowing just 2 hits, 1 run and striking out 7 while walking 3. He held the Tigers hitless through 4 innings before allowing just a single hit in the 5th and 6th innings.

JD Martinez was 3-5 with a double and a RBI. He drove in his 12th run of the season and leads the Red Sox with 32 hits and 8 multi-hit games.  Mookie Betts was 2-4 with a double and a RBI. His double was a 397 foot rocket off the Green Monster. Michael Chavis, starting at 2nd base was 0-1 but scored 2 runs. He reached base 4 times , 3 times after being walked and the other time after being hit by a pitch. The hit by pitch and stolen base were the 1st of his major league career.

The Red Sox are now 10-15 and 6.0 games out of 1st place. The Red Sox play the final game of the 4 game series against Detroit Thursday night before opening a 3 game home series against the 1st place Tampa Bay Rays on Friday. Rick Porcello is scheduled to pitch for Boston Thursday night with the pregame starting at 6:10 and 1st pitch at 7:10 on AM 1370 WDEA.
