The Boston Red Sox made some roster moves prior to Tuesday's game against the Kansas City Royals, recalling Sam Travis and Devin Marrero, with both starting at 1st and 3rd base respectively. They paid immediate dividends with Travis going 1-5 with a double and RBI and Marrero going 2-2 with a RBI. Of course it didn't hurt that Chris Sale proved again he's the ace of the Red Sox pitching staff.

Sale pitched 8.1 innings, allowing 3 runs, on 4 hits (2 of which were home runs). He struck out 10 and just walked 1.

Xander Bogaerts and Sandy Leon each knocked in 2 runs.

With the Red Sox win, and the New York Yankees 7th consecutive loss (7-3 to the Angels on Tuesday) the Red Sox are back in 1st place 0.5 games ahead of the Yankees.

The Red Sox play the Kansas City Royals Wednesday afternoon, in the final game of the 3 game series and last game of the 8 game road trip. The Red Sox will send Drew Pomeranz to the mound, with the pregame starting at 1:30 and 1st pitch at 2:15 on AM 1370 WDEA.
