The Boston Red Sox beat the Tampa Bay Rays Friday night, April 19th, 6-4 hitting 3 home runs including back to back shots from Mookie Betts and Mitch Moreland. The win allowed them to pick up a full game on the 1st place Tampa Bay Rays.

Christian Vazquez also hit a 2 run homer in the 4th inning.Betts, Moreland and Devers each had 2 hits. Devers had a double but committed a key error in the 6th inning, allowing Tampa to tie the score 4-4 in the 6th inning. It was Devers' 6th error of the season.

Eduardo Rodriguez went 5.1 innings for Boston and had a no-decision. Brandon Workman picked up the win, pitching 1.2 innings. He's now 1-1 on the season. Ryan Brasier pitched thee 9th, striking out 1 and holding Tampa hitless for his 4th save of the season.

Boston will play Tampa on Saturday night with Rick Porcello scheduled to pitch for Boston. The pregame starts at 5:10 and 1st pitch at 6:10 on AM 1370 WDEA.
