The Boston Red Sox and Pittsburgh Pirates will play for "real" when they meet on Opening Day on Monday April 3rd in Fenway Park. On Tuesday, they played each other in Spring Training baseball from Florida, and the Red Sox beat the Pirates 9-2.

Brock Holt leading off was 3-5 scoring 2 runs. Mookie Betts was 2-2 driving in 4 runs. He had a double and home run. Jackie Bradley Jr. was 3-4 knocking in 3 runs and he hit his 4th homer of the Spring.

Knuckleballer Steven Wright pitched 4 innings, allowing just 1 run. He allowed 4 hits, striking out 2 and walking out 3.

Prior to the game the Red Sox reassigned right handed pitcher Kyle Kendrick to the minor league camp. He will stay with the Red Sox so he can start the exhibition game against the Washington Senators on Thursday, March 30th.  The Red Sox now have 36 players in the big league camp.
