The Boston Red Sox beat the Baltimore Orioles 4-2 on Wednesday May 3rd, in a night that saw 2 Baltimore Orioles tossed from the game by the umpires! After both teams were spoken to by Commissioner Rob Manfred earlier in the day about the hostilities, Oriole pitcher Kevin Gausman hit Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts in the back with a curveball in the bottom of the 2nd inning and was immediately tossed from the game.

Adam Jones was ejected in the 5th inning after arguing with the home plate umpire after he was rung up on strikes.

Drew Pomeranz went 5.1 innings and allowed 5 hits, 2 earned runs, while striking out 7 and walking 1 to pick up the win. He's now 3-1 on the season.

Craig Kimbrel picked up his 10th save pitching a scoreless 9th striking out the side.

Dustin Pedroia was 1-3 with a single in the 3rd inning. That his was his 1,707th, tying him with Harry Hooper for 8th on the Red Sox' all time hit list. It was also his 718th game at Fenway, passing Dom DiMaggio for 10th in the venue's history
