Red Sox Beat Jays 5-4 End Road Trip 6-3
The Boston Red Sox ended their 9 game road trip on Thursday, April 26th beating the Toronto Blue Jays 5-4 and finished the road trip with a 6-3 record. The Red Sox now have a 19-5 record, best in the major leagues and a 4 game lead over the 2nd place New York Yankees.
Chris Sale picked up the win, he's 2-1 on the season, throwing 6 innings and allowing 3 runs, all earned. He gave up 4 hits, 2 of which were homers, and struck out 4 while walking 2.
JD Martinez hit a 3 run homer, in the 5th, his 5th of the season, which proved to be the game winner. He ended up 2-4, as was Hanley Martinez and Andrew Benintendi. Brock Holt, who had filled in for Xander Bogaerts at shortstop while Bogaerts was on the disabled list had a double, but exited the game after tweaking his hamstring. Bogaerts is expected to come off the DL before Friday night's game.
