The Boston Red Sox beat the Cleveland Indians Monday night, July 31st 6-2 as the two teams started a 3 game series. Doug Fister, made the start for the Red Sox, and pitched brilliantly before allowing a 2 run homer in the 8th inning.

Fister pitched 7.2 innings, allowing the 2 runs on 5 hits. He struck out 5 and walked 2.

Two of the newest Red Sox led the way offensively. Rafael Devers was 4-4 with a double. He now has a 5 game hitting streak and has reached base in all 6 career games. He's now hitting .417

Eduardo Nunez playing 2nd base, as Dustin Pedroia missed his 3rd straight game was 3-5 with 2 doubles and 2 runs batted in. He also stole a base.

Mooki Betts was 2-5 with 3 runs batted in.

The Red Sox are still a half game out of 1st place, as the Yankees won again on Monday night. The Yankees are 8-2 in their last 10 games.

The Boston Red Sox will play the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday night with the pregame starting at 6:25 PM with the 1st pitch at 7:10. The Red Sox will send ace Chris Sale to the mound.
