The Boston Red Sox began their 9-game road trip with a win against the Milwaukee Brewers 5-3,Friday night,  for their 2nd win in a row, and moved 1 game over .500 as they're now 11-10.

Kike Hernandez doubled as did Masataka Yoshida, who drove in an insurance run in the 7th inning.

4 of Boston's 8 hits were extra-base hits (3 doubles and homer). Jarren Duran continued to hit since being recalled from Triple A, and went 2-4 with a run batted in.

Nick Pivetta evened his record at 1-1. He went 5.2 innings allowing 7 hits and 3 runs. He struck out 7 and walked 1.

Kenley Jansen remained perfect in save opportunities, picking up his 5th of the season, striking out 2 in the 9th as he didn't allow a hit.

Rowdy Tellez who used to own the Red Sox' pitchers as a member of the Blue Jays hit his 6th homer of the season, a solo shot in the 4th inning off of Nick Pivetta.

Milwaukee and Boston will play game 2 of the 3-game series Saturday night. Garrett Whitlock is scheduled to start for Boston. Hear the pregame starting at 6:10 p.m. and 1st pitch at 7:10 p.m. on AM 1370 WDEA in Downeast Maine and on 101.9 The Rock in Aroostook County.
