Make it 2 in a row for the Boston Red Sox as they beat the Atlanta Braves 8-6 in Fenway Park on Saturday, May 26th. Andrew Benintendi had a homer, triple and single (just a double short of the cycle) and drove in 3 runs.
Drew Pomeranz struggled for Boston, another rough start, lasting just 3.1 innings and giving up 5 runs, all earned on 6 hits. He struck out 3 and walked 3.
Steven Wright came on in the 4th inning and threw 3 scoreless innings to pick up the win. Joe Kelly pitched the 8th and Craig Kimbrel pitched up his 16th save of the inning, although he did allow a homer in the 9th.
Mitch Moreland starting at 1st base again was 2-5 with a double and stand up triple driving in 2 runs.
Blake Swihart, the designated hitter, was 1-3, with a RBI and walk.
Dustin Pedroia, making his first start of the season was 0-4 with a walk, and scored a run.
