The Boston Red Sox won their 4th game in a row, beating the Toronto Blue Jays in Toronto Tuesday night, April 19th as the Red Sox bats came alive, banging out 15 hits. Brian Johnson pitched 5 innings to pick up the win.
Mookie Betts was 3-5 with a homer and 2 RBIs. Mitch Moreland was 3-5 with his 10th double of the season and drove in 3 RBIs. Pablo Sandoval was 3-4, Xander Bogaerts was 2-5 batting leadoff and Andrew Benintendi was 2-5 with a double and RBI.
Johnson, pitching in place of Eduardo Rodriguez who is on paternity leave, allowed 7 hits, 4 runs, all earned while striking out 6 and walking 3. He gave up 2 homers.
The Red Sox are now 9-5 on the season and in a three way tie with the Baltimore Orioles 8-4 and New York Yankees 9-5 for first place in the AL East.
