The Tampa Bay Rays doubled up the Boston Red Sox Friday night, April 14th, beating the Red Sox 10-5. The loss dropped the Red Sox to .500 on the season with a 5-5 record.

Rick Porcello, the reigning Cy Young Award winner just didn't have it Friday night. He lasted only 4.1 innings allowing 8 hits, but 4 of those hits were homers. He struck out 5, walking 2 and gave up 8 runs all earned. He had finished 5.0 inning in his previous 43 straight starts for the Red Sox, the 3rd longest streak for a Red Sox pitcher since 1920, but that came to a crashing halt Friday.

Mookie Betts was 4-5 with a double for the Red Sox. Dustin Pedroia was 2-4 with a ground rule double for the Red Sox. He has reached base for the 10th straight game to begin the season.  Xander Bogaerts was 3-4 with a walk. Friday night was his 3rd straight multi0hit night. Andrew Benintendi was 2-4 with a double. He, like Pedroia, has reached base in each of the Red Sox's first 10 games.
