Ranger Suarez struggled in his Red Sox debut on Monday, March 30th as Boston lost to the Houston Astros 8-1

Suarez managed to only go 4.1 innings, allowing 7 hits and 4 earned runs, striking out 3 and walking 1. He allowed 2 home runs.

Johan Oviedo followed in relief, making his 1st appearance for Boston and pitched the final 3.2 innings allowing 6 hits and 4 runs, all earned. He struck out 3 and walked 1 ang gave up 2 home runs.

Boston's bats with the exception of Wilyer Abreu were silent, managing just 4 hits on the night. Abreu had 2 of the hits, including a double, and driving in Boston's lone run.

Caleb Durbin was 0-2 and is now hitless in 14 at bats.

Boston grounded into 2 double plays and struck out 12 times Monday night.
