Porcello and Red Sox Take On Chicago Cubs Monday Night

The Boston Red Sox are in Mesa, Arizona on Monday and Tuesday, March 25th and 26th playing the Chicago Cubs in their last 2 exhibition games of the Spring before opening the regular season on Thursday, March 28th in Seattle against the Seattle Mariners.

The Mariners are already 2-0 on the season, after sweeping the 2 game series in Japan against the Oakland A's.

Tonight, the Red Sox will send Rick Porcello to the mound in his last Spring Training start. In his last start against Baltimore on March 20th he gave up a leadoff homer , then held the Orioles scoreless and ended up pitching 5 innings, allowing just 3 hits and 1 run.

The Red Sox come into the game winning their last 4 games, by a combined score of 36-13. The scored 6 runs on Wednesday the 20th, 8 on Thursday the 21st, 10 on Friday the 22nd and 12 on Saturday the 23rd. They were off yesterday, Sunday the 24th.  They are 6-2 in their last 8 games.

David Price is scheduled to start against the Cubs on Tuesday the 26th, with a 3PM start. Price has made 299 regular season appearances and 23 in the post season. The Chicago Cubs are the only major league team Price has never faced.
