The Augusta Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation have a man in custody they feel is responsible for both Rite Aid robberies yesterday (Tues. Sept. 2nd).

Dominic J. Pomerleau (21) of Augusta has been held by Detectives since this morning on a probationary hold while the investigation into both pharmacy robberies is completed.  Once the investigation is finished, Augusta Police anticipate that Pomerleau will be formally charged with both robberies.

On Tuesday 9/02 around 5:40 pm Augusta PD received a call about an attempted robbery at the Rite Aid on North Belfast Avenue in Augusta. Then approximately 15 minutes later Augusta PD received a second report of a robbery, this time at the Rite Aid on Hospital Street.
