Patriots Beat Commanders in Exhibition Game 48-18 [VIDEO]
The New England Patriots beat the Washington Commanders, 48-18 on Friday night, August 8th, in an exhibition game at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro.
It was the 1st game under new Head Coach Mike Vrabel, and the Patriots wasted no time scoring, as rookie TreVeyon Henderson took the opening kickoff and ran it back for a 100 yard kickoff return. With the extra point, the Pats led 7-0
The Patriots led 17-0 at the end of the 1st Quarter. Quarterback Drake May ran the ball in from 5 yards out, and the point after kick was good.
Then with 3:08 left in the Quarter, Andy Borregales, a rookie kicked a 22 yard field goal.
The Patriots led 27-3 at the end of the 1st Half.
John Parker Romo converted a 57 yard field goal, and then Joshua Dobbs ran the ball in from 2 yards out. Borregales point-after attempt was good.
The Patriots led 34-11 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.
Efton Chism II, a rookie, caught a 12-yard pass from rookie quarterback Ben Wooldridge. Romo's point-after was good.
The final Pats' scoring play came with 4:52 left to go in the game, when rookie Lan Larison ran the ball in from 2 yards out. Romo's kick was good.

Prior to the game, the Patriots unveiled the statue of Tom Brady outside of Gillette Stadium
The Patriots next exhibition game is on Saturday, August 16th when they will play the Minnesota Vikings. You can hear that game on I-95, 95.7 FM.
