In the latest Bar Harbor City Council packet, for the meeting on September 17th, Bar Harbor Finance Director Stan Harmon has detailed the revenue and expenses for the new parking policy, which includes paid and permit parking.

In July and August, the Town of Bar Harbor has realized revenue of $774,462 compared to expected revenue of $510,750 for a net variance of $315,765. According to Harmon, the Town took in approximately $260,000 of revenue in May and June. That brings the total to $1,034,462.

Direct costs for July and August were $44,802. This includes wages, benefits signs and other operating costs. The budget for the year is $142,865, but there will be little or no expenses November-April, so there will be just costs in September and October and then next May and June in the current fiscal year.
